I am the daughter of Ethel Hicks Moffitt Faulk and would like to invite your congregation to dinner on the ground at the Hicks (ect) cemetary above Jack Elliots homeplace on Saturday, Sept 23 at 11:00 a.m. Mom has told us a lot about Ruth and Jimmy Orr and her younger days on the mountain, the Backwoods School and the community. There will be a memorial service for Ethel Hicks at the cemetary and my bother Dan Moffitt and I would like for anyone who knew her long ago to come and join us. Mom passed away on September the 4th. Transportation from your church to the cemetary will be provided. Bring a covered dish or not, just come!!!! Dan and I would love to meet her friends and family.
